Hello,

I am looking into a drawing where the designer has shown grating panel as 429 x 2737mm wide and the main bearing bars are spanning in the longer direction.
The bearing bar for this panels shown on the are 1-3/4 x 3/8. My question: is there any aspect ratio that one has to maintained to avoid any warping when the shop team is cutting and welding these bars. Wont this panel will bow in the middle? Just curious to know your thoughts on this. May be i am thinking too much. Oher distribution bars are spaced at 4" c/c.

Regards

Are you worried about warping with banding around the edges? Or when the cross bars are tacked in place? Either way you're overthinking it, as long as you are getting grating from a reputable supplier.

Hi Canwest, Yes i am worried about when they will weld banding bar at the perimeter and also can dipping into the galvanizing tank. Will it bow in the middle.
