We created some standard assemblies to bring into tools and we are going to make pallets to bring them in quicker. Each assembly we created has all the components on a specific layer and colored hw we need it and attributes given to the components. However there is one snag we are running into. The assemblies are coming in with the original attributes and colors and layers. Not that of which we gave the assembly.
My Question = Is there any way to change some customer defaults or something so that when we add an assembly to a file, it will automatically add it with the "assembly's" layers, colors and attributes and not each separate components?
The attached picture is actually three pictures together.
Picture 1 - When we add the assembly it comes in with "original" layers for all of the components, and the colors and attributes are that of the original components.
Picture 2 - Hilighted in yellow shows the assembly I selected and went to "properties" on. And then also hilighted in yellow the three button I click. These change the properties to read that of the assembly we are bring in.
Picture 3 - Shows the result of this action. You can see the layer is now 20 on the components and certain bodies have colors we need. It will also grab some attribute changes I do not show.
Though going into these properties and hitting these three buttons does the job, we know there will be some who either will forget to do this or just not bother with it, thinking someone else down the road will fix it. Hoping to head off problems like that, we want to bring them in with the correct attributes and layers and such from the beginning.
