Hi! It seems that everytime i make a pipe with multi-section, Catia wont recognize the surface when i try to constrain it. Does anyone know why this happens?
Attaching a file of the pipes.

what exactly are you trying to do/constrain?

Hi! I just want to offset the pipes from a plane, and position it in an assembly. Catia wont accept this as a normal part it seems.
As for now I am using points and planes in the part to constrain with, but i would rather not do that.

Hi.

Pipes in CATIA are modelled using so-called Light Parts that indeed have many limitations including inablity to operate with their geometry normally.
I guess you could create additional geometry in pipe's .CATPart and constraint it after pipe has been instantiated.

I'd question why you would use geometry like this for constraining, to begin with? Feature based geometry is notoriously unstable for constraints, as any changes to the geometry or its underlying definition, creates a new feature reference, which in turn, is not recognized by the constraint.

It's a much better practice to constrain to stable geometry that has limited likelihood of ever breaking. Think wireframe. Planes, points, lines. And of course, axis systems...
