I don't know if this has been posted before if so sorry for the repeat, But who out there misses the Mating Conditions over the Assembly Constraints?

You're going to miss them more very soon since Mating Conditions have been removed from NX 7.5. Existing Mated Parts will remain so (you are NOT forced to update existing assemblies), however you will not be allowed to either edit or create 'new' Mating Conditions.

As for discussion on this topic, there have been many. Here are a couple of threads:

Yeah I know John I am already running NX 7.5 and I noticed they are gone, except when I have a assembly that uses them from a previous version. Maybe you could tell me what came to change from using mating condition to using assembly constraints, why not just improve the mating conditions commands?

Mating Conditions were based on an old approach which could not be 'enhanced' to where we needed it. It would be like asking that we 'enhance' a manual transmission so that it worked like an automatic, but leave all the old pieces in place.

Thanks John for clearing that up for me, not saying I don't like assembly constraints just haven't used them tell I was forced to in NX 7.5, and from what I have been using of them there not to bad, just will take time to adjust to them and really figure out how to use them.

But John automatic transmissions are for girls! Real men drive manuals. They never eat quiche, only drink beer and black coffee, never need maps or read the instructions and only ever program in assembler! Come to think of it real men probably make things harder on themselves than they have to be! [wink]

While I may drive an automatic today, I learned on a 'stick-shift' and can still drive them when I have to rent a car in Europe. As for the beer, REAL MEN drink Cascade, right?
