Assembly Family Table Problem 1

I have a problem with an assembly that has 4 instances. When I open the generic and verify the family table the first three instances verify successfully. The last instance fails. I can open the last instance and it opens OK. There are no errors or anything as to why the instance fails when verifying the family table. Now here is the knuckle curve ball. When I go back to the generic, with the last instance in session, all the instances verify successfully. What is going on here? Any suggestions on how to fix, or what the problem could be? I have never seen anything like this before.

First of all erase not displayed or open a fresh Pro/E session.
If you can open the generic, instead of verifying the family table Regenerate --> Automatic and see what happens. Sometimes (in many cases while working with copied geometry) the files (parts or assemblies) open fine, but if regenerated some of them fail.
If your generic assembly fails while regenerating, fix the problem, and after that verify again the family table. If that doesn’t fix your problem we’ll figure out something else.

Thanks for the reply. I opened a new session of Pro/E, then opened the generic. I picked Regenerate > Automatic and the generic regenerated without any failures. I then verified the FT again and got the same results as above. Any other suggestions?

It’s kind of hard to think about that “blind”. It may be a “parent-child” relationship between two features, or components, and when you suppress one of them in one instance the related part/feature from the last instance it’s suppressed also. I need more info. What is different in your last instance comparing to the first three ones. What happens if you try to open directly the 4th instance that fails while checking the FT. I bet you should redefine one feature/component that is tied to another one. If you can redefine what is shown in the 4th instance and not shown in the other ones, and use as reference just datum planes, or coordinate systems (the default ones if possible), your problem may go away.

I found the problem. I opened the assembly and started at the end of the model tree, where I would delete the last component, do a regen, then verified the family table. About 8 components into the model tree I found two components that where assembled wrong, although I did not receive any failure or warning messages about it. After I deleted the two components the family table verified all instances successfully. I then re-assembled the components using different references. Family table verified sucessfully again. After I corrected the problem I showed the designer who created the assembly what the problem was. Thanks again for your help.
