Dear all,

I have gone through multiple threads with assembly mass calculation, still I feel its unclear.
If I use <W$=@$MASS> in Part list and got mass(weight) of all child (leave) parts. But at the same time, mass of any sub assemblies are Zero(0). Now If I have a look on assembly navigator even sub-assemblies are having correct mass.

My question why is so happing that partlist and ANT are not common and how I can call values of ANT to part list. Currently I am using NX5 and having advance assembly license.

Is the issue that you want the weights of the sub-assemblies included in the Parts List, or do you want the sub-assemblies removed from the Parts List? Most people, if they are going to include all the individual parts in the Parts List, they generally do NOT want the sub-assemblies. If this is the case that can be controlled by setting the Parts List levels.

To an Engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

Thanks Baker!!

Edit level is not an issue I want mass of sub assemblies to be shown in Part list.

Sorry, but the 'Mass' value is taken from the bodies in the Component. There are NO bodies in a sub-assembly. I know that this may appear to be inconsistent with some other places where mass is calculated, but that's just the way the software was written. If you would like us to consider changing that, please contact GTAC and they will be glad to open an ER (Enhancement Request), which will be put on the list where the cost versus the benefit of this change will be weighed against the others ER's that are also on the list. I can assure you that unless we see a demand from a sufficient number of customers for this, it will never be done on spec.

Thanks again for your valuable comment Baker!

I will check with my support team to open ER, but even you start working on it, to get the final result will take longer time.

Can you tell me where the values shown in assembly navigator are stored. I mean can I retrieve these values by any mean (any function code). I am confident because values are calculated, presented and gets updated with changes. Even a small help will be great.
