Assembly matrix parts list

Hi all,

I'm not sure if this is possible, but I would love some help from anyone who might know how to help reduce some tedious manual labour in NX 7.5. Currently running without Teamcenter.

I work with many assembly models, where arrangements are used to show the different variations of the assembly. For arguments sake, imagine an assembly model consisting of 11 parts, with 10 different configurations/arrangements where each consists of 2 parts. I would normally create 10 arrangements, and leave the default 'Arrangement 1', which will contain all parts for all arrangements.

On the 2D drawing for this assembly, we create an assembly parts list matrix, where as normal all parts for 'Arrangement 1' are shown in the list, then 10 quantity columns are added, where each quantity column corresponds to an arrangement. Manually, we then delete the $~Q code in each cell, when a part is not used in an assembly. I have included a screenshot of a basic example of this below. The arrangements/assemblies are added at the bottom left as a tabular note (all entered manually), and all the columns within the red box are added as extra columns to the existing template parts list, where each column with the $~Q code via MB3 > style, columns, QTY.

So, my question; is there any way to somehow automatically remove/fill each quantity cell for a given arrangement/assembly variation in the parts list, and/or add the arrangement names to a tabular note, where the tabular note builds itself automatically? It is such tedious work deleting the $~Q code, and most of the assemblies we work with are quite complex (I'm currently working on an assembly with 72 arrangements!!).

Any help or suggestions on how to make this much easier would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.
