Hello,

I use two monitors. I have placed placed my Assembly Navigator and Part Navigator on the second monitor. This worked good.
But since i have updated my graphiccard driver i have the problem that when i change between Sheetmetal, Drafting or Modeling my Assembly Navigator jumps from my second monitor to my main monitor. This sometimes also happens when i start using a other feature.
Sometime's it's the Part Navigator that jumps to the main monitor.

I updated the graphiccard driver because i had some other problems in NX. This problem is now solved.

Has anyone a idea how i could lock my Assembly and Part Navigator on my second monitor.

Thanks.

The navigator window position is saved per application; when you switch to sheetmetal the navigators remember their position from the last time you used sheetmetal and jump back to where you had them. You can go into each application and reposition your navigators, or you could try Preferences -> User Interface... -> Layout -> Reset window position.

Thank you for your answer.

That is the way it should work yeah. But i have replaced my Assembly and part navigator moch more time's.
But it's going better now. It's getting rare that the screens jump back.
So finaly NX starts to remember where i want to have my sreens. :)

I still have this problem.
I found out that there is a version of the videocard driver that is certified by siemens, but when i install that driver i have a almost black screen in negative image, so that one totally dosn't work.
Now i'm using the newest driver again but stil the screens jump back very often.

Has anyone maybe a solution for me?

Thanks already.

Using NX 8.0 on Windows 7 (64)

If I was you I would delete the registry settings for NX.
( slightly dangerous operation if one doesn't delete the correct data since everything windows does depends on the registry...)
Performing a complete uninstall + install will also ( Should...) delete the settings and create new.
Anyway, (important) No NX session running:
In the registry, browse down to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\Unigraphics Solutions\NX\ and rename the "8.0" to , say, "old-8.0". *
Exit the registry editor.
This way the next time NX starts it will not find the "8.0" and has to recreate the settings. ( it will create a new 8.0 )
( Some settings are saved in the files under C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Local\Unigraphics Solutions\NX80 but not all.)
* In case this doesn't help, you can restore the renamed registry key. If it does help you can delete the renamed registry key.

Regards,
Tomas

[sad] Sadly this dosn't work. [sad]
After a day trying/testing i put the old 8.0 back.
The Assembly Navigator keeps jumping back everytime i switsch between moddeling, sheetmetal, drafting and sometimes when i start some functions.

But thankls for your answer Tomas.

It seems to me like you have NX on your number 2 monitor.
If you put it on your number 1 monitor you should be ok.
You should be able to set what monitor is your number 1 in Windows.

Thanks for the answer Jerry.
I'll try this over a week, when i'm back at office.

@Jerry.
No, i had NX on monitor 1 and the part and assembly navigator on monitor 2.
But now i changed that as a test.
And NX stay's perfect on monitor 2, but the part and assembly navigator still don't stay at the same place.
But it's a small improvement because they stay at monitor 1 and don't jump to the other screen. So this is a bit less irritating.

Please log a call with GTAC on this. There has been work done to better react to multiple monitors in the NX layout - it would be good to know if your problem has been taken care of in a newer release.
