I would like to output a video file from an assembly sequence so others that don't have access to UG can see it. However, there doesn't seem to be an option to export it out to any video file format (avi would be great).

Is there an option there that I missed? Anyone have a suggestion for a different way to do it? Maybe a third party screen capture type application? Hints, tips and suggestions are all welcome.

Hi cowski
I am in the same boat (driving NX3) and would like a solution. Have you you found a solution?

Can anyone suggest an output solution?
Seems strange that having spent time creating an assembly sequence you are left with no obvious output route?

For what I was doing, the video wasn't mandatory (but would have been a 'nice to have' item). I have found a few 'video screen capture' type programs that I will evaluate as I get time.

So did anyone find a way to do this withough using 3rd party software? It's a pain to get the IT people to install software.

Thanks
Omar

UG doesn't have anything built in for this. I'm not sure if their "Motion" module has it or not...I've never used it. You could export multiple jpegs but that's about it. I've been waiting for that kind of functionality for years. Here's a free one that I've used that works really well...many of them overload your systems resources and are very "jumpy". This one works great though..and it's free!:
Take care...

I just realized Benson's recommendation is freeware too...I'll have to try that one out.

Thanks Bent. Not really what I was hoping for but I guess thats what I'm going to have to use.

I hear you. I've been waiting for it for years in regards to cutter path verification. I can run a graphical verification of a cutter path but I can't save that animation out and supply it to my customer if need be right from UG. It would come in handy when the company your doing work for has a machine operator leery of running someone else's programs. Heck..even for them to use as a reference as to what the program is doing would be nice. Maybe in NX4??...lol...I won't hold my breath.

Take care....
