Hello Guys I have a problem / question with Sap2000,

how can I assign a concentrated force in a node which varies in time with sinusoidal function? you can do it?

The aim is to find the function transverse displacement of the beam on which it acts on the center line this concentrated force, F (t).
Thank you in advance

That would be a time history (or transient) analysis.... Can't remember how to do it exactly in SAP. But, I know it can be done.

It is exact, a time history but with the concentrated force.
JoshPlum, you know where I could get some more information?

avscorreia thanks for the reply.
I had already seen that file unfortunately not clarify how to associate the sine function defined in the Time History of a concentrated force.

Define a TH function suing Sine< then convert it to user-defined<then specify cycling time and duration you want (for example you want 10 cycle with peak value of 1 g for 20sec based on period of your object)<then define a load case and name it ImpactSine<then assign a joint load to the point where you want your sinusoidal load to be applied (if you put -10 in UZ, all the values in TH function at different time steps will be multiplied by 10 in Global Z direction)<then define a TH load case and use the Sine function you have defined. (make sure your units are unchanged, if you used ft when defining sine function and want the results to be in in^2/sec, then use 32.3 in scale factor< you can modify the damping as well (if it's a simple beam make the damping 1%)<then run analysis and use different output options available in SAP2K to view results

Peace

Mohandes2018 thank you so much!!, you've been very kind.
I think I've solved thanks to your advice, but mostly learned a process of general type.
