Assign a plastic hinge to a frame using the OAPI

Hi, the thread referenced above is closed but without answer and I have the same problem.

I need to assign a plastic hinge to a frame but the OAPI doesn't seem to provide with any method for this purpose?

It does allow to retrieve hinge assigns though, through the method `GetHingeAssigns()`

Is there any alternative way to assign a plastic hinge to a frame using the OAPI?

For example, would it be a good idea to split the frame at the desired plastic hinge position and then introduce a tiny frame element in between with custom material properties defined through the `SetSSCurve()` method?
