Assigning density at assembly level

I have a large assembly in which many components don't have a material assigned to them. I would like to override to part level material densities and assign a density to the assembly level. Is this possible and if so, how do I do it?

This techniques would be close enough as most of the components are the same material.

Why you want to do at assembly level only.

With SW2010 you can assign material to all parts at the same time.

You can assign mass properties to both parts and their assemblies. But it is not a good practice.
