On our fabrication drawings, any parts that require a detail are given an individual view and dimensions. The way I do this on drawings is bycreating a model view of that part and putting a label underneath it saying 'DETAIL ITEM 38' for example. Is there anyway the '38' could be associated to the 'Item No.' in the BOM. When parts are removed the numbers move up or down and I would like the labels for the details to follow. Thanks.

You could set up a custom property in your part file and have the BOM refrence this property to display the "38". As far as the text moving. If you are creating a detail or section you could change the "stock SW" view label to say "detail item 38" The label would then be linked to the view and may move when the part changes. If you are just adding your own text. I don't think there is much you can do. You can associate the text with that view but I don't think it will move the way you're looking for.
