Hello all,

we have a lot of old 2d drawings with annotations and dimensions, which are identified as "Assorted parts Dimensions". Whats is that, and how to edit these types of annotations/dimensions? Trying to edit it with text or note editors I am geting an error (see attached picture).

NX7.0.1.7 mp3

Thanks

Exactly how old is 'old'? From your picture I suspect that what you have there may be something created using a UG/NX Open program in which case it may have been created as a UDE (User Defined Entity), in which case, the programmers author is responsible for providing the tools (in the form of another program) to edit these objects since UG/NX would know nothing about them. Also, if you go back FAR enough, we had something similar which you could do interactively called 'Dimension by Part' which was a scheme where you could 'assembly' a customized 'dimension' made up of other dimensions, notes and/or curves which would behave as if it where a single entity (sort of a precursor to 'User Defined Symbols').

Thanks John,

your answer directed me to the right way. Actualy this drawing was created in 1999 (i dont know, with which ug version). In our grip tools i found few tools, which are for text/dimensions like i mentioned in post before. using them now i find no problems editing "assorted parts dimensions".

Thanks.
