I am using the ASTM 5921 "Standard Practice for Subsurface Site Characterization of Test Pits for On-Site Septic Systems".
I think I am doing a reasonable job of flailing through the soil characterization process but I would like to get some feed back from the engineering community regarding other books or reference material that can help me to be more accurate. Some of the "definitions" need defining for me since I am not a soils guru. I know there are a ton of ref. books on the market but could someone with practical experience point me in the right direction?
