In one of the specification I have found that client has asked for Inter Granuler Corrosion test as per ASTM A 262 Practice F for Incoloy 825 cladded pipe. But test conducted by the manufacture resulted in corrosion rate more than required minimum as per the specification. But now the manufacture has suggested that ASTM A 262 Practice F is not applicable. They suggested ASTM A 262 Practice B for the same. Now can any body aprise me whether the manufacturer is correct in their suggestion.

This is a stablized grade. I would think that either A262 Practice C or B would be the best fits. B would be my first choice.
Actually G28 might be a better standard. I'll look up those tests.

If you visit the Special Metals web site they have an excellent reference manual (free download - 61 pages) titled High Performance Alloys for Resistance to Aqueous Corrosion

On page 59, they provide Acceptance Tests and Criteria for corrosion-resistant alloys. For Incoloy 825, the applicable test is ASTM A 262 Practice C.
