ASTM A182 INSTEAD OF ASTM A105

hi there,

please can someone advise me as to wheather it is ok to use a valve of standard ASTM A182 instead of ASTM A105.The pipe line is carbon steel.I realise that A182 is for higher temperatures and will do the job but I am not sure if it is ok to mate the A182 flanges of the valve with A105 flanges.

SA-182 and what grade? F1? Or are you into the Cr-Mo steels? You didn't say.
Anyway, assuming you are refering to the C-1/2Mo steel, I don't see there isn't any problem with mating this to SA-105. You should check your pressure-temperature rating in ASME B16.5 for material class 1.1 vs 1.5.

Exactly, what is your concern?
