ASTM A36 chemical requirement

Hello,

I have a doubt regarding ASTM A36 Grade. Scrolling down to chemical requirements, Manganese in plates and bars of below 3/4" are 0%. What if it contain manganese? Or why standard don't have manganese included in table for particular size?

The ... in the table referenced means the manganese content is not specified as a maximum or range. It does not mean 0%.

It depends on the carbon content used for the plate to establish the required minimum mechanical properties. The Mn content will be as necessary so I can't give you an acceptable range.

Actually,the manganese (and carbon) limits are dependent on product form and, if plate, the width and thickness.
