ASTM A36 equivalence

we have a project as shop fabricator of vessels and tanks for a new sulphuric acid plant in morocco, engineering was made by american company and the material of construction is the ASTM A36.
here in morocco we use E24-2 or S235JR (european steel)and there is many similar units constructed under these steel and work since 20 years, but the engineering company didn't accept because they think the chemichal composition is different and this will have impact on corrosion.

Please help me to prove that it will be no problem with using this steel (S235JR)

While I am not familiar with your filler metals, the only way A-36 will survive unprotected in sulf. acid is if the acid purity is high--up over ~94%. I *think* the elect. cond. is pretty low in such acid, so galvanic/disimilar metal corrosion should not be a concern. Acid purity, temp. and velocity are the important factors.

For storage tanks wich are coated, there is no problem, the problem is specially for stack plant and sulfur furnace, these two vessels contain S02 and works on high temperature.
