I am looking at using a structural shape (I-beam) as a support member in a test set up I am working on. Essentially I will have a cantilevered I-beam with a couple of point loads along the span. The only kicker is that it will be operating at elevated temperatures.

I am considering using a beam made to ASTM A572 (no grade specified as of yet). My question right now is, does anyone have any references to recommend that show what the yield point suppression is like vs. temperature for this material? Does it follow roughly what other plain carbon steels exhibit?

Thanks.
