More and more often I am being asked to supply EN spec pipe and flanges where we usually use ASTM materials.

Can anyone tell me...What is the difference, if any? Can I certify ASTM to EN, if not dual certified already?

So far it seem there is no difference other that paperwork

EN spec require an entirely different testing and certification system. Yes in the end the results are the same, but the process can be very different. Down to little things like they require and different method of calibration for tensile machines.

Common products like stainless 316 pipe are often multiple certified available, eg ASTM A312 TP316/316L & I N 10216-5 1.4404/1.4401. This doesn't however mean that the same goes for all common items, like A105 flanges or 316 wrought fittings. The market demands make that manufacturers multiple certify items when the range of requirements and testing allows for this.

EN specification system is as thorough as ASTM, often are more detailed and sometimes more stringent of the two. If one could draw a proper comparison and carry out testing as per both applicable standards ( provided the superior one would prevail), then dual certification is possible. However testing could become expensive.
