Hi,
This might be better posted in materials but...
We use B247, 6061-T6 aluminum for pipe fittings for cryogenic systems. Currently we are looking at some round bar that is certified B247 chemistry only, being manufactured to AMS-QQ-A-367A. Chapter III of ASME B31.3 allows the use of unlisted material provided the material comforms to a published specification.
Does anyone know the difference between the two specifications and does this seem like a problem?
