Hello,

I need your help for the following :

According to ASTM B444 (inconel 625 pipe and tube), the wall thickness tolerance is +/- 10% for an outside diameter tube of 0.62 in. (15.8 8mm)
But if the minimum wall is fixed to 0.05 inch (1.25 mm), what is the tolerance on the wall thickness?
Is-it -0% +10% or -0% +20%?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Nicholas.

I don't understand your question. If you read through ASME/ASTM SB/B 444 in Table X1.1 you have a Table that provides OD range, OD diameter - plus 0.00X" minus 0, inside diameter - plus 0 minus 0.00x", with wall thickness +10/-10 %.

Some specs have provisions for ordering either nominal wall (+/-10%) or minimum wall (-0/+20%).
If you don't state otherwise you will get nominal.
In either case you are safest to spell out the tolerances that you want in actual dimensions. Don't leave any question.
