I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this, but here goes.
To know if a particular plating is RoHS compliant, I usually look for something like non hexavalent, trivalent, or RoHS. For instance ASTM B633 Types V and VI use a non hexavalent coating. I'm wondering about ASTM B841 though. I don't see any specific language in the spec that any Type is RoHS compliant. I do see that it uses a chromate conversion coating without any mention of non-hex or trivalent. So, the question is, is it permisible to call out this spec, but add a requirement that the chromate conversion coating must be trivalent?
