In a nutshell.......what's the difference?

I initially thought the C-76 was thicker but found that was not the case. It is my understanding that C-76 is more robust due to more rebar but having a hard time verifying. I may need to break down and buy the ASTM standards but wouldn't have much need for them beyond this question.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

one is for storm drain pipe the other is for manholes

Designation: C76 – 11 Standard Specification for Reinforced Concrete Culvert, Storm Drain, and Sewer Pipe

Designation: C478 – 11 Standard Specification for Precast Reinforced Concrete Manhole Sections

Appreciate that. That's the typical use but what about material differences?
