I need to call out the ASTM equivalent for ANSI/AA A380.0 to specify the material on a drawing.

Would "ALUMINUM ALLOY SC84A ASTM B85" be correct and/or suficient? This is for a die cast aluminum part going to Korea. We do not want to use the JIS standard ADC10 because of the higher Si content.

Where can I get an ASTM spec (for free?) to send to Korea that specifies the composition for A380.0?

ASTM B 85 lists three designations for any particular alloy: one corresponding to the Aluminum Association and standardized according to ANSI H35.1, another according to ASTM B 275, and a third one that is the UNS number according to ASTM E 527.

I would use the UNS number when working with a Korean company. For your case:

Aluminum alloy A13800 according to ASTM B 85

ASTM standards are subject to copyright laws and cannot be freely obtained. You can purchase them from ASTM International:
