I'm working on a large project that will have steel and fabrication from Europe. The local jurisdiction is requiring ASTM standards apply.
Is there a ASTM document, or procedure, that lists equivalent material?
Is it possible to use Euro steel under IBC regulations?

Hi, ofthesea:

above is a website where you can find equivalent ASTM steel per Euro steel.

As for your question if Euro steel can be used under IBC, my understanding is that since IBC is just building code which does not limit the material selection. So you should be free to select the Euro steel for your project.

In some of my euro projects, with AISC design, I used Euro equivalent material to ASTM and also ASTM materials which are available there(the market is quite limited though).

I never see any local jurisdiction impose ASTM requirements on projects. It would be interesting to know why.

Thanks and hope this helps.
