Hi all,

I have a doubt about which revisions of the ASTM standards should be used when manufacturing a material under the ASME code section II.
To be clear, if for example I have to produce a tube according to ASME section II SB-213 2019 edition, I have to perform a tensile test according to ASTM E8. My question is which ASTM revision should be used?

Thanks

I only have Section II Part A handy, but it includes Mandatory Appendix II "Basis for Use of Acceptable ASME, ASTM, and Non-ASTM Editions".

I would guess that Part B will have something similar.

Thanks for your answer.
From what I can understand, Appendix II contains only the ASTM related to materials. My doubt has to do mainly with the ASTM requested for the tests (tensile tests, corrosion, etc)
Regards

Hello ,
Any construction code provide list of acceptable edition for other code, if you are manufacturing any material as per Ed 2019 you must use the current applicable standard to Meet code requirements.
