Hi all. I'm hoping someone can shed some light on paint requirements for valves made to the European ATEX directive (explosive atmospheres). Specifically, is there are requirement that paint must be aluminum-free? Any insight would be appreciated!

Thanks,

JN, Aluminum can burn with a flaring effect. You wouldn't use magnesium flammable environment would you? The same rational applies to aluminum. It can also function as a catalyst in some types of gas/vapor clouds.
