Hello All,

I have been trying to find a value for the thermal conductivity of ATF, specifically Dexron III, with no success. Can anyone help or point to a source for this information?

Many thanks

Thermal conductivity is a static value for items like a wall. Dexron III is a transmission fluid and you should be looking at heat capacity and convection rates.

I am sure that the thermal conductivity of DexronIII is available at the company's research department and may not be published for the general public. While Dougt115 has a point, I guess it all depends what you intends to do with the product. For a start look at the PDF sheet at

Thanks for all the help. I contacted one of our vendors and they were able to provide these values. The table that we received from them show a value of 0.1354 W/mK at 0° C and 0.1248 W/mK at 145° C. It's very linear between those two points.

Hello all,

Just as an additional piece of information, I find this website: very useful for looking up thermal properties (thermal conductivity, thermal effusivity, specific heat) of various materials. The site also has calculators to convert thermal conductivity into different units.
