If operating pressure is atmospheric (15 psi) which tank standard would apply? (api 650 does not apply for above 2.5 psi) also tank volume is large scale above 1000tpa

API 650 is good for up to 2.5 psig
API 620 is good for below 15 psig

If you mean 15 psig, that is an ASME pressure vessel. If 15 psig is not needed, API 620 (14.5 psig) may be acceptable.

@rvameche are there any standard size charts for ASME pressure vessels?

Size charts for what? Wall thickness? A particular manufacturer may have "standard" vessels that could be cheaper than a custom one if you don't need any special connections or other features.

In my experience you determine the vessel size, head type, nozzle locations, etc and a manufacturer will determine the wall thickness based on material, temperature and pressure. They'll usually include wall thickness in their initial quote.

Also, if you meant 15 psig in the original post, note that is NOT atmospheric. You'll confuse both tank and vessel manufacturers if you're saying 15 psig is atmospheric.

You're asking some basic questions here, but please do some research beforehand and use correct terminology.

An "atmospheric" storage tank is a tank in which the contents are at atmospheric pressure inside and out (i.e. an open vent or very low pressure ( inches of water column)). Adding "(15 psi)" just confuses everyone.

Atmospheric storage tanks are commonly built to API 650.

Then you start asking questions about ASME pressure vessels.

Please come back with proper, defined engineering terms and proper questions.
