Or you can have the note highlighted when you invoke the GTOL command and the frame will be automagically attached.

I tried this but they won't group. For kicks I tried to group two GDT frames(not what I want to do)and I can do this but I can't group a Note to a GDT frame.

???

I just tried grouping and it worked fine. Using SW 2010 here. While editing the note, you can select the GTOL frame from the properties manager and have it attached that was as well.

Jeff, also using SolidWorks 2010. Have service pack 4 installed. I tired closing SolidWorks and restarting but I still can't group a Note and a GDT frame together. The Group icon is grayed out.

That's weird. I can't think of what would cause the option to be grayed out.

make sure the GD&T frame is part of the same view as the note. If on different views (or one on the sheet) group doesn't work. Use "lock view focus" the ensure.
