Hello,

We are recently using AutoCAD 2000 for schematic capture. I would like to implement the using of more advanced program with an automatic wire numbering and cross reference creation. My tip should be something like "Electrical Designer" program, but they do not sell the program anymore for AutoCAD 2000 and the newer versions are not backward compatible.
Could somebody suggest me a similar AutoCAD 2000 based software that would preserve the DWG format of the drawings? The purchase of newer AutoCAD version is out of question because now the ProEngineer program is used for mechanical drawing creation and thus AutoCad 2000 will be not upgraded to a newer version.

I believe you would want ProE Routed System Designer?
I would talk to your VAR/Reseller to see what fits your company.

Hello mcgyvr,

Thank you for your tip!

The informational leaflet seems to be promising so I will contact the reseller for the price offer and trial or demo. This would be even better solution than 2D program for ACAD 2k. We would not have to make extra drawing of cable layouts because they could be generated automatically.
