I have a customer who is going to fabricate our parts who has Intellicad 2000. I sent drawing to them as AutoCAD 14 DXF, and AutoCAD 14 DWG. On two copies of the same drawing (different drawing extensions) different information did or did not show up, such as a lisp? or RText? routine that will insert the file name minus the last four digits (in our border (block with attributes)) as the part number. This does not show up in either drawing that they opened up in intellicad 2000.

We decided to try and save the original border on 0 layer, and insert it on 0 layer, and put all entities on 0 layer to include text, dimensions etc. Will this work? Or does someone know of a way to make this work.

Thanks for any help that anyone might be able to offer.

I have found this forum quit useful. Any one else!!

I BELIEVE THAT YOUR IDEA WILL WORK.INTELLICAD IS VERY SIMILAR TO ACAD ON MOST LEVELS. THE 2 MAIN AREAS IT DIFFERS IS VBA AND LISP. ICAD VBA IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH ACAD UNLESS YOU REWRITE THE CODE TO REFERENCE ACAD FUNCTIONS. ICAD WILL RUN 80% OF ALL LISP UP TO RELEASE 14. IT WILL READ ANY VISUALLISP OR RATHER I HAVENT BEEN ABLE TO MAKE IT READ VISUAL LISP. I PURCHASED INTELLICAD AS A SECOND AND THIRD SEAT OPTION AS NOT EVERONE IN THE COMPANY NEEDS A FULL ADDITION OF AUTOCAD. HOPE THIS HELPS
