AutoCad 2002 query 1

Hi all,
Whilst using AutoCad 2002,if i select from the dimension toolbar either angular,radius or diameter and then select the item i am trying to dimension, autocad just immediately shuts down all other dimesion buttons are working fine.
Can anyone offer an exsplanation to why this is occuring and hopefully a solution.

I am a little confused w/ your two last lines of your first paragraph. Can you restate what you mean?
