Autocad 2004 LT Printing Problem

Hi,

I have the following problem at a client. All clients are running Windows XP Pro SP1, Autocad 2004 LT, and either high-end AMD Athlon XP systems, or Intel P4 HTs.
They have had no printing problems in the past. However, of late, when they click the print dialogue, it takes up to 4 minutes to bring the box up before they can print.
There are no problems printing Windows test pages, or out of other applications.
Anyone seen this before?

Thanks!

Perhaps AutoCAD is looking for a printer that does not exist anymore on the network.

I am not sure how LT works, but when you print, see if you can save the layout or not. If the drawing was saved with its previous layout then IFR is correct, AutoCAD is probably looking for some unknown printer.

One possibility is that the temp directory under windows XP in which temp files are created for plot spooling, are filled with temporary save files. The allocated disk space is full and non continuous.

I typically setup a generic folder on the hard drive to save temp files and autosaves out of AutoCAD.

Make the directory, set AutoCAD to autosave there, and clear out the old backups and saves from the windows documents and setting folder.

Good luck,

Daniel
