AutoCAD 2004 running slow!

I am having a problem with AutoCAD 2004. While in paper space, I have a locked viewport and I often work on my drawing in model space through the viewport. For some reason, I am having really slow pan and zooming while it is switching to paper space and then back to model space when I pan or zoom. All the other computers in the office have no problem except this one, which is one of the most up-to-date of them all.

If anyone has seen this happen before and knows what is going on, please please let me know.

Are they all using the same graphics
cards? You might want to switch these
and see if that is the problem.

before working on your drawing while in PS you should unlock your viewport otherwise you will not be able to pan your drawing while your status is in MS.

Not having ACAD with me now, look up 'refresh rates' in the help and see if you can change it to match the other machines in your office. Sounds to me like your machine is trying to draw every curve & angle as precisely as it can, but doesn't know that it doesn't need to.

Also, do you have a bunch of drawings open at the same time too? You might be pushing the limits of your machine if you have a bunch open and they all have x-refs to large files.

Still having a problem. I checked out my video card, it is a 64MB ATI Radeon, much better than some others in the office. I wasn't able to find what I needed about 'refresh rates'. When I pan or zoom in model space or paper space it works fine but when I am looking through a locked viewport and try to pan and zoom, it is very slow. I appreciate the comments so far. If you have any additional suggestions, please let me know.
