AutoCAD 2012 Viewport not plotting

I am temporarily baffled.

AutoCAD 2012 under Windows 7x64.

I have a drawing file with 21 tabs and a total of 90+ Viewports. Anywhere from 1 to a maximum of 8 Viewports per tab.
My understanding is that MAXACTVP applies only to each tab and NOT to the total number of Viewports in the drawing file. Further, I understand that it should not affect the plots, only what is visible on the screen.

The 2 newest Tabs in the drawing will not plot the Viewports, will not show the Viewports on a plot preview, yet are visible on the screen.

The Viewports are obviously On since I can see them on the screen.

I need some help folks!

Never mind. Found the problem.

I had created new layers for the viewports involved from existing layers. The chosen layer(s) were no-plot layers and that property was inherited by the new layers.

Duh!

Sometimes the obvious isn't.

Well at least you learned something about ACAD.

I learn something almost every day. Sometimes good things, sometimes bad things. Sometimes it's the faults in my working style (like this one) that trip me up.

I've also learned to despise how Undo and the scroll wheel zoom work together.

I lost count of the number of times I built something on, or moved something to, a no-print layer. ... and beat on the printer.
