Hello all,
I used to have AutoCAD 2009 but now with a new laptop, I have AutoCAD 2006. Its layout is different and I am trying to turn on a few features that I liked in 2009. In 2-D drawings, moving objects in relation to one another was simple. For example, if I wanted to move a selection of objects to a new point and have them directly below a new point, I could hold my cursor over that new point and move the mouse. It would give me a dotted line above, below, to the left or right of the new point. With 2006, I have to dimension everything first or draw a new line and then move the objects I want. It's much more time consuming. I hope this was understandable. Can anyone help me out? Thank you

If you hover over the "snap" button, or search the menu tree for Auto-snap options, you can select "intersections" as an option there.

I don't think Object Tracking is available in 2006. How did you upgrade computers and downgrade your software?

Don't remember about object tracking in 06 either, but point filters have been around for a while too. As long as you're just trying to line up horizontally/vertically, point filters can be a big help.

I'm not real sure but you might try the apparant intersection snap
