Autocad Line Scale Setting - Centrelines

G'day

Does anybody know how the line scales can be changed/created for autocad. For example the centrelines are automatically created with the short dash in the centre, whereas (correct me if i'm wrong) the long dash should run through the centre of circles with the short dash outside in standards....???

My company has decided that the long dash needs to go through the centre of circles and this seems to not be possible for cad.

Any help would be most appreciated!

I know that problem using Autocad a few years ago (we are using SOLID EDGE now). The only way to get rid of the point in a circle center is a lisp-macro which draws a pair of crossed lines (solid lines of the same width and color than the centerlines) on picking the circle. The marco is called "cl.lsp" and is delivered on the original CD of older Autocad versions.

Try using the center mark dimension from the dimension menu. That idea may not work wonderfully with a centerline superimposed.

Another option is to draw your own centerline and save it as a block then insert it whenever you need it. Save it with the insertion point at the center of a long dash and trim or add to it as required by the drawing it is used in.
