AutoCAD LT and VBA apps

I need to extract the area of closed polylines AND extract text strings that are contained within the polyline for linkage or output to an excel spreadsheet. Is VBA the way to go here? Does VBA work with ACAD LT? Any other ideas? Thank you in advance for your advice.

out of luck I'm afraid, LT does not support VBA or Lisp etc
there are some 3rd party Lisp enablers out there but I've no idea how effective they are.
