I learned on autocad 2002, but at work i have autocad R14. I want the mouse wheel to zoom and pan, but the wheel doesnt do anything in autocad, however, it does work in Internet Explorer. I've read that i need to use the MBUTTONPAN command, but when I enter this command it replies "unknown command". Can anyone offer advice?

It's been awhile since I've used 14, but if you poke around
Tools/Options/System, you might have an option of pointing device. In some cases you can reprogram the mouse buttons for specific purposes. It might give you the option if you reload your mouse driver as well.

I prefer the 3rd button rather than the wheel personally, but I learned on R-9, still maintain a DOS screen & use hot keys.

good luck

VirtualSpacePirate,

no, no, no. MBUTTONPAN since R2000.
Maybe Yoo can search foe a 3d-party-tool?

As an FYI, MBUTTONPAN was not added as a variable until AutoCAD 2000.
