Autodesk Vault with SolidWorks

Hello All,

I'm working with the IT team to implement Enovia as our PLM and Autodesk Vault as our PDM. I'm hoping someone here can shed a little light on how Autodesk Vault handles configurations in SolidWorks.

A little Background: Currently, we use Creo 5, however, corporate IT will eventually force us to transition to SolidWorks. Corporate IT is also forcing us to transition to Autodesk Vault as a PDM.

Our problem presents itself in the family tables we have set up within the current Creo 5 environment. For example, we have one family table with 30+ O-rings in it. We know from experience that Autodesk Vault cannot manage Creo 5 family tables so we are considering two solutions: 1) break the family tables into individual parts, or 2) jump the gun and transition to SolidWorks if Autodesk Vault can handle configurations correctly.

Does anyone have experience with the SolidWorks and Autodesk Vault interaction?

Good luck!
I hope they have a good reason for using a PDM system from a different vendor than their CAD system. It may work, but you are always pointing fingers at each other when it doesn't. Plus, upgrades become a nightmare as you have to wait for both companies to have newer compatible versions.
