Gentlemen,
Our boiler specification is as follows:
350 ton/hour, 134 kg/cm2,
540 Cdeg, Single Drum, Natural Circulation,
Top Supported, Oil Firing, C.E. Box Type
We control our blowdown manually based on our daily lab results of the dissolved solids in boiler water. According to specification our blowdown is 6.67% of BFW, but in operation it might be within 10 to 25 tons/hour. We would like to optimize blowdown rate by regulating the volume of water discharged from the boiler in relation to the concentration of dissolved solids present using an automatic blowdown control system.
Are automatic blowdown control systems applicable for a high pressure and large capacity boiler as ours? Are there any companies installing this kind of technology?
I will be very glad to hear from you
Regards,
