I like to try to keep up with metallurgy of cars and trucks. Is there a source for technical details ? Two items in perticular - "Forged powdered metal piston rods" and the liner material for a new aluminum block that uses a spray type coating instead of an iron liner. These are both Ford developments.

There is a huge amount of information available on powder forged connecting rods. Over half of the connecting rods in the North American market are manufactured by this process, with just about every major automotive OEM as a customer, not just Ford. I thought these techniques were new ! Thanks, exactly what I wanted . Hard to keep up with thinks now that I'm retired.
