Automotive/Motorcycle companies/start up in SF Bay Area 1

Hello everyone
I am a recent (actually some time now) ME cal poly graduate, I have been looking for work for some time now, although I am not particularly picky what industry or company I work for, in this crappy economy I would really be thankful to get a job anywhere, however, my life passion is in cars and motorcycles. I can build a bike from the ground up and really enjoy working with my hands, unfortunately there is not necessarily a demand for that type of skill set in the bay area. That being said I was hoping I could get some help out with whatever automotive/motorcycle/EV/aftermarket companies/start ups you guys/gals may know of in the sf bay area, here are several that i know of:

Tesla
Mission Motors
VW Research Center
Rolls-Royce (not the automotive division though)
Kibblewhite Precision Machining
Lit Motors

FWIW I've worked for 6 different companies in my life and I've had to move for every single one of them.

Why don't you start working as a mechanic in a motorcycle dealership and within a short period of time you could own the place.

My last 4 company changes I didn't even move my office, they keep selling the place out from under me.

The Help for this program was created in Windows Help format, which depends on a feature that isn't included in this version of Windows.

haha, thanks chicopee, i would not mind working as a mechanic or something like that, although i could not compete with guys that do that for a living and are properly certified, also the longer i put off getting an engineering job the more solidworks/matlab/other engineering stuff that i dont even remember anymore,, i forget.

as far as relocating, the bay area is a great place for new start ups, particularly in the field of electric vehicle and alternative energy, its just a matter of finding theses companies.. like i had no idea mission motors even existed until a few months ago.. even though they even competed in the isle man tt several years ago as it turns out, check out the documentary "Charge"

Have you tried simply contacting all of these companies to see if they have any openings? What about a contract position or internship with a different automotive company that may not be in your area? Even if the position that you find is not what you want, the best way to find good jobs is via networking, which usually comes through a former supervisor or co-worker.
