Initially I'd thought that the mpge calculation favoured an electric car, although later I decided it was too close to call, but interestingly the sole survivor in the mainstream event is a lightweight aerodynamic IC engined car, not even a hybrid. Congratulations to the Edison2 team.

Cheers

Amen to the congrats.
It's not even butt-ugly.

No..that is butt-ugly.

And our standard for beauty would be???*

Seriously, the body (fuselage?) shape is most interesting, and actually seems to be tetrahedral. Haven't seen that before. Anyhow they seem to have generated a CD of 0.16, Including those faired wheels. I'd be interested to see what the Frontal Area is.
The low weight is also an achivement, although I'd be curious to see how it can absorb high G impact.

Anyhow, they worked hard for this, and deserve it.

(* mine would likely be the Corvair Monza GT show car of 1962-3, the Chaparral 2D that the Monza inspired (both the midengine monocoque and the body shape), the Alfa Tipo 33 Stradiale, and of course the Miura)
