Can this alloy be investment cast without a license required by Avesta. If a license is required, is there an equivalent ?

I don't think it has a current patent. Why don't you go to the AvestaPolarit.com website and ask them. It's pretty interactive.

Avesta is represented for marketing and technical questions in the U.S. by Technical Marketing Resources, in Pittsburgh. Phone 412.369.0377. Jim Fritz is a name there. I have always found them very helpful.

I'm inclined to agree with Mcguire. ASTM A351 features the cast version of 254SMO as CK3MCuN.
