AWS Prequalified Fillet Welds -- Where can I get a joint designation for fillet welds? (D1.6)

We typically do jobs per ASME, but recently got one from a customer that requires us to use AWS D1.6 codes and procedures. I'm currently going through the drawings to see what prequalified joints will apply. I am finding groove welds with ease (even though some of the requirements are flat out stupid....FCAW double bevel can only be welded overhead?) but I'm not sure what to do with all of the fillet welds

A simple welding symbol indicating a fillet weld with a specified size and length is all that is needed. Unlike a groove, there are no "groove angles", specified root openings, etc. to be concerned with when specifying a fillet weld.

A skewed T-joint with a dihedral angle less than 80 degrees or more than 100 degrees must be given some additional consideration. A sketch of the joint may be preferable to a welding symbol when Z-loss must be considered.

For the 99 edition, you'd follow the rules of 3.14 and (roughly) the detail in Figure 3.2. In the next edition of D1.6, a prequalified fillet weld detail diagram is being incorporated in with the other joint details listed in Clause 3.
