Axial + Hinge Connectors / Displacement Issues

Hello,

I'm trying to simulate a mechanism on which I have two movements as follows:

1. Linear Movement in U1 through an Axial Connector.

2. Angular Movement in U1 through a Hinge Connector.

Steps

Step 1 ------------------- Movement 1. -3 inches-

Step 2 ------------------- Movement 2., -6.28 rad- holding the position of Movement 1.

The problem is that if I perform Movement 1., Movement 2. doesn't run or If I perform Movement 2., Movement 1. doesn't run.

I am guessing that my connectors are not set properly.

How are the connectors applied ? I can't see the wire used for the hinge connector - is it just defined between two points having the same coordinates ? Wouldn't the cylindrical connector (with both U1 and UR1 available) do the job here ?

First off, thanks for your reply!

The hinge connector is connected to the ground, so the wire is not shown.

The same point is used as point "a" in the axial connector as a center pivot.

Could you share the .cae file (can be with that roller simplified to a regular cylinder) ? I'm not sure exactly how you defined BCs, local orientations and nodes for the connectors.

What's the purpose of that MPC and fixed BC ? They seem to be unnecessary here.

This approach won't work. If you enable the display of connectors in the results, you may notice the coordinate system of the hinge connector rotating in place. Removing the hinge and rotating the endpoint of the axial connector won't help either. Instead, you could try the Cartesian + Align connector combination.
